How do I calculate hood extraction rate?

The rate depends on the power installed under the hood: average 30-40 m³/h per kW of cooking equipment, adjusted for the captured area. See our extraction-rate calculation guide.

Do I need air compensation?

Yes: an extracting hood must be balanced by an equivalent fresh-air supply, otherwise the depression disrupts cooking, draught and comfort. It's often required by regulation.

Wall-mounted or central hood?

A wall hood covers a cooking line against the wall; a central (island) hood captures above a cooking block accessible from both sides.
